The challenge:

Turn your employees into teams of architects!
Their challenge? Responding to a call for tenders for the construction of a bridge that meets stakeholders’ expectations in terms of sustainable development.

Compliance with specifications is crucial, but so are the choice of materials (bamboo, cardboard, string) and consideration of stakeholder expectations.

Teams get involved in the choice of architecture; they design the plans, then organize themselves to assemble and finally decorate the bridge. All their decisions will be notified by a carbon bonus or penalty via an order form that each team will have in its possession.

At the same time, the communications team prepares messages to convince stakeholders. A lot of thought, action and pressure as time is limited…

When all the teams have finished building their bridge plots, each will be assembled with the others to create a very large bridge.

To test the bridge’s sturdiness, an electric car will drive over the various plots.

Will your employees be able to limit their carbon footprint, communicate with local populations and convince them of their sense of social responsibility?

What is Le Pont du Développement Durable?

Enlightenments

  • The importance of aligning with a common goal.
  • Know how to organize to achieve optimum efficiency.
  • Environmental requirements are not brakes, but opportunities to be creative.
  • Fully commit to the execution phase of the project.
  • Differentiate between efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain a high level of collective motivation.

How it works

  • Working in teams, participants read the specifications and divide up their roles.
  • They design their “ideal” plan, calculate their material requirements taking into account their carbon footprint, source materials and start building their section.
  • The project managers consult each other and organize the assembly of the sections to build a large bridge.
  • A remote-controlled electric vehicle drives across the bridge to the applause of the teams at the inauguration. Each team presents the environmental features and benefits of its bridge section.
